Basso & Cia Ltda manufactory at Bento Gonçalves in the state of Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil. Founded in Bento Gonçalves in 1946, Basso & Cia Ltda started by producing small
wooden objects and constructing timber beam houses of the traditional
Italian and German style then common in the region. Home building
required ever increasing quantities of doors and windows and Basso
gradually specialized in manufacturing these items in high quality woods
using an advanced manufacturing technology.
Nowadays, Basso & Cia
Ltda supplies its product to large and small construction projects
throughout South America, the USA and Canada, and shortly throughout the
European Union, analysing carefully each project to ensure that the most
suitable of its timbers, doors and windows is used in each case.

Basso's modern factory now covers 5,260 square meters and is equipped with all of the latest and best hi-tech in wood-working machinery. All products are made from fine Brazilian rainforest hardwoods - farmed, not raped from the Amazon basin, and with certification to prove it! - that have been cured for at least two years to ensure stability under varying climatic conditions. Many technical advances have been incorporated in the standard products one of which is the use of extruded aluminum guides with nylon brushes to provide excellent acoustic sealing. Working to rigid quality controls, Basso & Cia: crafts custom doors, windows and similar items to superb standards and finishes. The domestic Basso service includes providing all necessary technical assistance from the start of the project to the final installation on-site, which service is soon to be available in Australia and New Zealand. The factory serves the general building market both for large construction firms, incorporators, speculative builders and private residences.
