Proprietary high-technology Acoustic and Thermal sealing make Basso doors and windows the unmatched leader in this area amongst manufacturers of traditional timber windows. Seals
for doors consists of two parts - thin rubber / plastic strips all
around the door and the style which are compressed when the door is
closed, and an aluminium channel with an internal sliding riser fitted
in a hidden slot at the bottom of the door which seals the moving
gap between the bottom of the door and the floor. Between them these two
seals resist winds /rains blown against the door at up to 100 Kms. The
doors can be supplied with or without this feature.
Basso windows have similar technically superior
operating mechanisms and seals - as these photographs (the first two of a demonstration
model) show.
