| Contributors' Guidelines
The Pipe Smoker's Digest is always interested in publishing pieces that conform to our parameters. We're after comfortable, interesting and informative reading, mental fodder for the contemplative reader. Not too technical, not the commerce-orientated crud that is so prevalent today. Solid, substantial life-based digest material. Definitely not modern US-style 'journalism'. Not plastic, not pretentious, not phoney. A good ten minutes' of chewy reading in each story. Your work must be intelligent. You should have an easy, flowing style; mastery of an excellent vocabulary; the ability to perceive and the judgement to select what is significant, and the skill to express that which will be meaningful, interesting and substantial. You should also have the wisdom to gauge what subjects will interest the readers of The Pipe Smoker's Digest. |
| Rates for Contributors
All pieces are paid at US$30 per 1000 words or pro rata, plus a percentage of the advertising revenues paid per 'click' on each story. We hope to become the first e-zine to be completely generated and serviced by telecommuters - as well as owned by them! Contributors whose work is accepted for publication more than three times will be offered shareholding in The Pipe Smoker's Digest and encouraged to join the editorial board - we want to be a co-operative venture with members world-wide, to translate our stories into most languages, and to win premium rate advertising revenue from corporations servicing global markets. All pieces deemed acceptable for publication will be posted in format on a mock-up of the PSD for peer review - after all, your fellow contributors are also going to be the owners of the publication. We will arrange some kind of accessible notice board for comments on each piece. The Pipe Smoker's Digest will start as a monthly, and we hope
that as soon as possible it will be issued weekly.
