| Jobs with Waterfall Gorges Adventure Holidays
will be regularly notified on this page. We are looking for friendly, fit,
intelligent, articulate, active, knowledgable, positive people of all ages
to provide our services to the public - as tour Group Leaders, horse workers,
canoe workers, fishing experts, bushlore experts, qualified cooks / chefs,
drivers, administrators and heavens knows what else.
Applicants - please read the text on the various pages of this website so that you understand what we are offering to the public before you make any contact with me. Right now I want to hear from persons who have the skills and personality to be -
(If you have a skill that you think we might be able to utilise to offer a new service, or to improve an existing one, please write and tell me about what you have in mind. If you have other ideas or resources - even just cash / capital - talk to me! For example, we are seeking to rent or lease suitable horses, horse gear, canoes, camping equipment and field kitchens - can you help?) Perhaps I should not have called them 'jobs' - Waterfall Gorges Adventure Holidays has no employees. Everybody who works here is a contractor, looking after their own tax, superannuation and so forth. The nature of the business means that it operates only for half of the year, so contracted workers are easily under the Australian requirement that they cannot work as a contractor for any one employer for more than 50 percent of their time. And everybody who works here is, after a qualifying period, offered shares in the venture. We are a co-operative and all shareholders are expected to share in the responsibilities of decisionmaking for the venture as well as in the profits - if any! We expect all of our people to be well educated and knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the region, and to have a lively, intelligent interest in geography and geology and astronomy and archaeology and all the rest of it. They must be self-confident and self reliant, yet able to work teamed with others. They must have high levels of human relations skills - to be able to deal with those situations where customers make themselves ugly in a friendly, firm but non-agressive way, as well as working with other team members, and giving the trekkers a happy, friendly week. They must be articulate and able to express themselves with clarity and precision. Hopefully they will have at least two usable work skills. If you want to join us, you must be willing and able to turn your hand to anything. Most of all, you will want to be a friend.
